Does 007 First Light Have Multiplayer?
No. 007 First Light is a strictly single-player experience with no multiplayer modes, co-op, or versus play. This was confirmed by IO Interactive before launch and remains the case as of the 1.0.1 patch. The game is built entirely around the Bond origin story campaign.
Online Features: TacSim Leaderboards
The only online feature in 007 First Light is the TacSim (Tactical Simulation) mode leaderboards. TacSim allows you to replay campaign missions with modifiers and compete on global leaderboards for scores. This requires an active internet connection but is not multiplayer in the traditional sense — you are playing against scores, not against other players directly.
Why No Multiplayer?
IO Interactive made a deliberate design choice to focus entirely on the single-player Bond experience. Adding multiplayer would have diluted development resources away from the campaign, story, and TacSim mode. Given that the game is fundamentally a narrative experience about Bond becoming 007, a co-op or versus mode would not have made narrative sense either.
If you want online spy gameplay from IO Interactive, their Hitman: World of Assassination includes full multiplayer contract mode and cooperative missions.
