Story Overview — Bond's Origin Begins
007 First Light tells the origin story of James Bond. The game begins with Bond as a 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman who performs a heroic act during a mission in Iceland. MI6 recruits him into the newly revived Double-0 program. But when his first operation goes catastrophically wrong, Bond must work with his reluctant mentor Greenway to unravel a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of British intelligence.
The Conspiracy — Webb Industries & THEIA
Sir Nicholas Webb, CEO of Webb Industries, has built HYPERION — a quantum computer designed to supplant the British government by corrupting MI6's intelligence operations for years. THEIA is HYPERION's parent quantum core. Webb leaks vital MI6 information, then coerces M into granting him full immunity. When Bond refuses to accept this, Webb orders his mercenary forces to eliminate Bond and Greenway.

The Ending — Bond Becomes 007
Bond returns to London and visits Greenway's grave. M formally offers him a place in the 00 program with the agent number 001. Bond declines and asks for 007 instead — the number that defines the entire franchise. The classic Bond theme plays. A black screen follows with the words "JAMES BOND WILL RETURN".
THEIA, Isola, and the SPECTRE Tease
Isola's final exchange with Bond confirms she is not French intelligence. She is working for a foreign client whose identity she refuses to share. The organization is strongly implied to be SPECTRE — the shadowy corporation that serves as Bond's most famous recurring antagonist. THEIA is the narrative leverage that connects this game to the larger Bond franchise.
The ending resolves Bond's character arc fully while leaving the villain side deliberately unresolved. The Webbs are dead and HYPERION is destroyed, but THEIA is loose and the organization that wanted it is still unnamed — a narrative setup for whatever IO Interactive builds next.
