Q Branch provides Bond with his spy toolkit throughout the campaign. Gadgets unlock progressively through story missions, and each one changes how you approach stealth and combat. Here is every gadget, when you get it, and how to use it effectively.

Permanently Equipped Gadgets

Q-Lens (Chapter 2 — A New Home):

  • Reveals enemies, devices, and collectibles through walls
  • Wireframe overlay with color-coded threat markers
  • Highlights collectibles in yellow after Chapter 4
  • Battery drain: High — activate only when needed

Q-Watch (Chapter 2 — A New Home):

  • Three modes: Scanning, Profiling, Threat Analytics
  • Hacks electronic security and creates distractions
  • Battery drain: Medium — more efficient than Q-Lens for quick checks
  • Always worth keeping active during movement

Active Gadgets — Unlock Order

Dart Phone — Chapter 2, Electric Battery:

  • Fires toxin darts that force guards to abandon their posts
  • Best for: creating takedown opportunities in fixed-position encounters
  • The single most useful stealth gadget in the game

Smoke Pod — Chapter 3, Chemical:

  • 8-10 seconds of zero-visibility cover
  • Best for: escaping detection and moving through dense patrol areas
  • Spam-friendly — do not hoard it

Shockwave Camera — Chapter 3:

  • Stuns enemies and damages armor
  • Best for: combat encounters and armored enemy groups
  • Too loud for pure stealth

Laser Strap — Chapter 4, Electric Battery:

  • Cuts locks, temporarily blinds enemies, creates distractions
  • Best for: accessing locked areas and creating alternate routes
  • Essential for collectible hunting from Chapter 9 onward — always equip

Flash Mine — Chapter 4, Chemical:

  • Releases flash effect that stuns opponents
  • Best for: chokepoints and retreat coverage
  • Less flexible than Smoke Pod for pure stealth

Missile Pen — Chapter 6, Electric Battery:

  • Launches explosive projectiles
  • Best for: combat-heavy missions and group elimination
  • Significant battery cost — pair with high battery recharge

Gadget Battery Recharge Points

Battery recharge points appear as electrical devices marked with a blue battery icon when Q-Lens is active. Interact with these to refill your electric battery. Chemical pickups are scattered through environments — look for glowing containers. Always top up before entering high-threat zones.

💡Agent Intel

The Laser Strap is the only gadget that cannot be substituted — it opens locked containers required for collectibles in Chapters 10-17. If Chapter Select resets your loadout, replay Chapter 9 first to re-equip it.
