James Bond
Patrick Gibson
This is a young James Bond — not the suave, seasoned 00 agent we know from the films, but a raw recruit still proving himself. Portrayed by Patrick Gibson, this Bond is in his mid-to-late twenties, fresh from Royal Navy service, and hungry to prove he belongs in the 00 program. He's confident — maybe too confident — and that cockiness gets him into trouble multiple times throughout the story. What makes this version interesting is watching him learn: he makes mistakes, he doubts himself, and he grows into the role rather than starting as the perfect spy. Gibson brings a kind of restless energy to the character that feels right for a young Bond who hasn't yet learned when to hold back.

M
Priyanga Burford
This version of M is a different take on the character we're used to. Portrayed by Priyanga Burford, she's not the gruff, skeptical M of the classic films — she's the one who champions Bond's recruitment into the 00 program and actively pushes for his potential. That doesn't mean she's soft on him, though. She holds him to incredibly high standards and isn't afraid to call him out when he messes up. She's a leader who believes in her agents but also understands the cost of the work they do. Her support for Bond feels earned, not automatic — she sees something in him that others don't.

Q
Alastair Mackenzie
Q, played by Alastair Mackenzie, is the quartermaster responsible for equipping Bond with the gadgets, weapons, and vehicles he needs in the field. This Q feels a bit more grounded than some film interpretations — he's a brilliant engineer who takes his craft seriously and genuinely cares whether his agents come back alive. The Q-Watch (a modified Omega Seamaster) is his signature creation for Bond, and the Q Lab sequences where you pick up new gear are some of the most charming moments in the game. He's not just a gadget dispenser; he's got personality and dry wit that makes their interactions enjoyable.

Moneypenny
Kiera Lester
Moneypenny in 007 First Light isn't just M's secretary sitting behind a desk — she's an active intelligence officer who works closely with Bond in the field and provides analytical support throughout the campaign. Portrayed by Kiera Lester, this version of the character brings a sharp, no-nonsense energy to every scene she's in. She's not a love interest or a damsel; she's Bond's equal in the intelligence world, and she frequently calls him out when he's being reckless or overconfident. Their banter feels natural and earned — two professionals who respect each other but don't always agree.

John Greenway
Lennie James
John Greenway, played by Lennie James (The Walking Dead fans will recognize him immediately as Morgan Jones), is one of the most compelling characters in the game. He's a veteran MI6 operative — a former 00 agent who's seen too much and carries that weight heavily. He's assigned to work with Bond, and their relationship starts frosty. Greenway doesn't suffer fools and he sees Bond's recklessness as dangerous, both to the mission and to Bond himself. But as the story unfolds and the two men are forced to rely on each other, a genuine mentor-student dynamic develops. James brings real gravitas to the role, and his scenes with Bond are some of the best-written and best-acted moments in the game.

Selina Tan
Gemma Chan
Selina Tan is portrayed by Gemma Chan (Eternals, Crazy Rich Asians), and her casting was one of the most talked-about announcements leading up to release. Without getting into heavy spoiler territory, she's a specialist brought in by MI6 who plays a key role in the intelligence operations Bond is involved in. She brings a different kind of intelligence perspective — less field-operative, more analytical and strategic. Her interactions with Bond are interesting because she challenges him intellectually in ways that Greenway and M don't. She's not another authority figure; she's more of a peer who approaches problems from a completely different angle. I won't say more to avoid spoiling her arc, but Chan brings a quiet intensity to the role that makes every scene she's in more compelling.

Bawma
Lenny Kravitz
Bawma is the main antagonist of 007 First Light, and Lenny Kravitz's casting raised a lot of eyebrows when it was announced at The Game Awards — but it works. Kravitz brings a magnetic, unpredictable energy to the character. Bawma isn't a cartoon villain; he's a sophisticated, charismatic figure operating in the grey world of international arms dealing and intelligence brokering. He's not evil in the mustache-twirling sense — he's a survivor who built an empire in the shadows and plays by his own rules. What makes him compelling is that he makes sense. You understand why he does what he does, even if you don't agree with it. His scenes opposite Bond are electric because there's a mutual respect underneath the antagonism.

Isola Vale
Noémie Nakai
Isola Vale is one of those characters where you're never quite sure where you stand with her, which makes every scene she's in tense. Portrayed by Noémie Nakai, she appears at various points throughout the story — sometimes helping Bond, sometimes working against him, always operating with her own agenda. She's connected to Bawma's world but doesn't seem to answer to anyone, which makes her a wild card. I'm being intentionally vague about her role because discovering where her loyalties lie is one of the more interesting parts of the story. What I can say is that Nakai plays her with a cool, enigmatic quality that keeps you guessing the whole time.
