007 First Light Stealth Guide - Complete Stealth Mechanics and Tips
Master stealth in 007 First Light with our comprehensive guide covering disguises, silent takedowns, distractions, and Silent Assassin strategies.

Stealth Mechanics Overview
Stealth in 007 First Light builds on IO Interactive's Hitman DNA but adds Bond-specific twists. The core loop is familiar: observe patrol patterns, find disguises, create distractions, and eliminate targets quietly. But the social stealth system goes deeper here — in formal settings like the London nightclub or Slovakia hotel, you can blend in by acting naturally. Walking confidently in a matching disguise, making small talk at a bar, or joining a smoking group all help you stay hidden in plain sight. The disguise system has rules: a waiter outfit gets you into kitchens but not offices; a security uniform opens restricted doors but draws attention from other guards who might question you. Understanding the disguise hierarchy is fundamental.
Using Disguises Effectively
Instinct mode is your most powerful stealth tool — press the button and the world highlights: enemies in red, targets in yellow, collectibles in green, interactive objects in blue. It drains over time, so use it in short bursts rather than holding it continuously. The trick is to pulse instinct: tap it at a doorway to see what's inside, tap it at a corner to check patrol paths, tap it before making a move. This conserves the meter while keeping you informed. Late-game upgrades let you see through walls briefly and highlight noise sources. Also, instinct reveals disguise validity — if a guard is going to see through your cover, instinct shows them with a different indicator. Use it before every risky move.
Silent Takedowns and Distractions
Distractions are the bread and butter of manipulating guard positions. You have a ton of options: throw a bottle or brick to create a noise lure, hack electronics with the Q-Phone to make a TV or radio malfunction, trigger a fire alarm to clear an area, or even stage an "accident" by tampering with environment hazards. The key principle is chain your distractions — don't just move one guard, think two steps ahead. Lure a guard away from his post, then while he investigates, slip past and create another distraction deeper in to pull a second guard, opening a path to your target. The bottle throw is underrated: it's silent enough to attract only nearby guards, and you can throw it from cover without exposing yourself. Master the timing and you can move through entire sections without being seen.
Silent Assassin Strategies
The disguise system has more nuance than it first appears. A perfect disguise does exist — the target's personal bodyguard uniform in the Slovakia hotel lets you go virtually anywhere without suspicion. But most disguises have "enforcer" NPCs who see through them: a chef will be questioned by the head chef, a guard uniform gets scrutinized by officers. The trick is learning which NPCs are enforcers for each disguise and either avoiding them or creating situations where they leave their position. Also, carrying the wrong item breaks a disguise — walking around with a rifle while dressed as a bartender is a dead giveaway. Holster your weapon or carry a context-appropriate item to sell the illusion. Some disguises have time limits too — a maintenance worker outfit at the hotel is only unremarkable during daytime hours.
